I’ve worked very, very hard for the past months, but I have to say with great regret that Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit will be skipping SAGE this year.
The current build of the demo is simply not up to the level of quality or polish that I want it to be, and am therefore not comfortable with releasing it. I don’t think it properly reflects what people hope for regarding this project. I can’t quite justify putting it out there.
If you are disappointed, trust me, I am even more disappointed. I really hope you understand. You and I have both seen when a video game is put out too soon, undercooked and rushed. cough ‘06 cough
I originally would have been able to make the deadline, but I had some crazy-good opportunities come up in my professional career, as well as some paid-projects as a sound designer/composer. Naturally, I had to prioritize those over a passion-project fan game like STT 16-bit, which I am only able to work on in my spare time between freelancing and a full-time job.
It’s simply not ready yet. I want to live up to my/your expectations and don’t want to disappoint you with a crappy demo.
Please understand, and thank you for continuing to be so excited and hyped about this little project of mine!
