The Search for a Colour Palette Devlog [07.11.20]

Hello there! I thought I would give you all an update on how the game is going! There hasn't really been a lot of stuff happening so this is not going to be too long. And yes, for once I am actually also posting this to the TSFACP demo page (why I didn't already do this before is beyond me.)

The village is finally finished! It didn't take too long and it wasn't meant to either, it's a rather small addition to the game but I'm still proud of it! The village is essentially just a small area in the game where you can go talk to villagers and see their input. It's also a very good source for knives if you somehow need an infinite amount of those things. There are 4 houses (3D models!) and you can go into each and every one of them, they are basically the same but with different villagers and different items.

Yes! What I love the most is the 3D models, those things took a full week to implement but I'm really happy how they turned out, and it makes the game's world feel more alive. Of course, Clickteam Fusion 2.5 is not a 3D engine it's 2D, so the models can't be too advanced without the framerate going straight to hell. So some optimizations had to made, and still have to be made to be completely honest. I'll manage though. :)

I very recently bought a new program, and that program is Aseprite! Holy crap I love this program so much! If you don't know what Aseprite is, it's essentially a pixelart program. I used Piskel before and I can already see my pixelart becoming better with proper tools. Piskel isn't bad per se, but it lacks in many departments. So I'm glad I finally have a proper dedicated tool for drawing pixelart! :P

I am now starting on level 4! And I am currently on version Alpha 0.0.5. I am gonna fix the previous bosses and balance them all out after I am finished with level 4, mainly because I have gotten feedback that especially the level 2 boss is way too hard. I believe I will be able to balance it out as time goes on.

We at @Nithriotto_Games have made a game together! It's called "The killer who may or may not be a moron." and it's- hmm.. sorry, it's just..this is a very emotional and important moment for me. It's just that this game is...it means so much you know?

The official cover art of the game is now finished! I hope you all liked it, it actually took a bit of time to make believe it or not. I still like how it turned out. :)

Finally revamped the atrocious options menu that TSFACP had. Before the keybinds were locked away in another screen and you had to click the "in-game controls" text to access it, now everything is on the same screen and it's just generally way smoother!

A few of you may remember a post long ago about me having to cut out the 3 savestate system, and me being bummed about it. https://gamejolt.com/p/devlog-26-03-2020-76czjxp3
