INTRODUCTION:

BOTW 2 is arguably one of the most anticipated video games of all time, being the sequel to one of the greatest games ever made expectations for this game are probably the highest they have ever been for any Nintendo game in recent times if not ever. As of yesterday we were informed that the estimated release window of the game was being moved from sometime in 2022 to Spring 2023! So let's discuss this new development and I'll give my opinions on it!

PART 1 - A BRIEF OUTLINE ON WHAT WE KNOW:

The sequel to the groundbreaking game that is The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild was announced at E3 2019, almost 3 years ago. It has been revealed that the sequel will be using the same engine of it's predecessor that has likely been tweaked to be more enhanced. But regardless of that has been in development for over 5! That's not only a longer development time than it's predecessor but is also the longest wait for a new Zelda game ever!

PART 2 - WHY THEY'RE DELAYING THE GAME:

The Game director stated that the game will take place in Hyrule above the skies of Hyrule and be expanded further than that as well! He stated that they need some more time to make sure it is great experience!

PART 3 - MY THOUGHTS ON THE DELAY:

I am actually happy for this delay! I feel like this will allow a few extra months to make sure everything is as good as it can be while also allowing the Zelda team to not be pushed to their brink! I don't think this delay is a sign of messy development I just think that this delay is a sign of how much love and effort they want to put into this game! I also doubt there will be anymore delays because they actually have a timeframe prediction that really isn't that further out than theorized 2022 releases!

PART 4 - HOW THE DELAY WILL BENEFIT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME:

I think that the extra months will allow for more polish and enhancement while also allowing the game to be released into an already insanely full game release schedule! This extra time will also allow more time for marketing and announcements! This delay I think will just benefit the game as whole I believe! Also for everyone who does believe that the reason game development has been so long even when they already have an engine, if Nintendo were largely setback by anything than they would've delayed the game further along with the fact that they would probably tell us if there were problems, I have faith that production is going as smoothly as it can be going!

CONCLUSION:

I have a lot of confidence in the Zelda team! The sequel to BOTW has the possibility to be greatest Zelda game of all time! This small delay allows the devs to get 3-6 extra months to make sure the game is a worthy successor to BOTW! This delay has made me more excited for the game than ever before! It shows that the Zelda team really are pouring everything they have into this game, they really want this to be the best game it could possibly be!

Personally, I would rather wait extra time for an amazing polished masterpiece than get a rushed sloppy mess because of strict deadlines! That's one of the things I like about Nintendo they're not afraid to expand deadlines if they believe their games aren't their absolute best!
