The State of the Game


is good! We’ve been working on a lot of cool features and fixes for the game in the past 30 or so days, so I’ll list em off for you guys:

  1. The game should run at 60fps for almost all computers thanks to like a month of optimization work by me

  2. There is a boss in the works, which I’d like to have in Early Access v4

  3. You can die now

  4. You can refill your health, save, and re-spawn at save points now

  5. We’ve set October as the tentative release month for the game. Things are looking good for the game, guys!

Here’s the boss. None of it is finished.

EA v4 will be here within this month. I’d like it to have the fully finished Jungle boss, but we might not be fast enough for that. It’ll definitely be done by EA v5.

I'm currently making a Tetris + Mahjong hybrid game called #Nojong. Match colored blocks in the field to make clears. After a number of clears, the blocks left in your hand are scored, so you want to try and keep triples and quadruples in your hand.

For some reason, it's really hard to change the alpha value of a tile layer in GameMaker. You can do this easily for sprite or instance layers, but not tile layers. So here's a video on how to easily update the alpha value of tile layers in real time.
