Problem At Hand
The Unknown was designed to be a horror game with a story in that case save points was a must but my knowledge in saving the game was absent when I first stepped in developing in this game. (What do you expect I was just starting hahaha) When I looked into this I saw that it’s unimaginable to make, it’s a programming thing where you need to save every single data to save a game which I never noted my mistake obviously, either way, the development will still continue
The Solutions
Each Chapter Release
I came up with a by chapter basis of the game which will then be added every now and then for example:
The Unknown Chapter 1 will be released this month
The Unknown Chapter 2 will be released after 3 months
and so on.
Which will save me the programming time of saving the game’s progress because it’s the choice of the player where to start.
Full Game Release (Chapter Based)
I came up with another solution which is releasing the full game but will contain chapters which the only chapter unlocked would be 1 then after finishing the chapter 1 the chapter 2 will be unlocked and so on…
Which will only consume my time in saving data of the Chapters that are completed.
Conclusion
The First solution will be supplying the game with new Chapters every now and then.
The Second solution will happen in one shot where I will release the game in one game with all the chapter in it.
