Hello! Been a second, hasn't it?
A while ago, I said something along the lines of "wanting to be more transparent" about the game. This is true, I DID want to be. It's very easy for me to get caught up in other projects or school and do nothing for a bit, or randomly get an incredible amount of motivation and get a month worth of work done in a week. This makes it hard to post consistent updates, I'm sure I've explained it all before. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna try! So here is the single most transparent update I can give you.
LL has been through many revisions since it started, which is partially why it's taking so long. The current version is what I would consider "V5", the 5th MAJOR redesign since the rebrand. Now, this sounds like a lot. But with every version the vision got more narrowed down, up until this point, where I think there is a GENUINE vision of something to be worked towards. YES, this means I'll stop revising stuff where it isn't necessary, I promise. On top of this, this isn't a nearly one-gal-project anymore. I realized that there are plenty of aspects that I struggle with, aspects that other people are simply better at. Because of this, I got some good friends of mine on board to help with aspects that I'm personally unable to do well. This is stuff like UI, Icons, 3D blockouts and animations. Needless to say, this speeds up progress by a lot. Since I last properly updated any of you, a lot of things, both style and worklow-wise, have changed. Given these big changes, I figured I'd give a quick rundown of them here!
ENVIRONMENTS
For a bit now, the environments have been done in stylized 3D. This is something I considered doing for a while, and looking back, I should've done it way earlier. 3D is a MUCH stronger suit for me than 2D is, resulting in an easier process and higher quality results. This workflow speeds up EVERYTHING by a lot, from lighting to animating to perspectives. Just to demonstrate how that looks, here's the current office render.

Given the awful lack of updates, I think I owe you this one. To clarify, this is the version without any animated elements, or, in other words, not the version you'll see in game. See it as a preview of sorts.
CHARACTERS
I think the character artstyle has seen many more changes than that of the environments has. That said, similairly to the environments, I've settled for a style that is a mix of reasonably easy to draw and appealing. While I could do what I did for the past two years and keep you completely in the dark about it, again, I think it'd be fair for me to show something. So, here are some characters that we're teased for the game anyway.

)
As you can see, no, the characters won't be in 3D like the environments are. Like the office, these designs are entirely subject to change.
UI
This is something I've always struggled with, so I asked one of my friends to do it! The camera UI you see below is made by my friend Jesse Lammers, with the power and time icons being made by @BirdBonanza .

I'm very happy with how this looks, they did a wonderful job on it. (Ignore the unfinished camera, pretty please)
This isn't everything I have, most of the office and camera functions are completely functional, but it IS all I'm gonna show for now.
So, what now?
Going forward, I intend on showing much more of the finished features here on the page. Yes, I want some features to be a surprise on release. But leaving you all without ANY information wouldn't do the game any good! Besides, with how many features there are, at least some of them will be surprising in the end. The page is definitely in for a revamp, given how outdated and mediocre it currently looks. I still intend on making all those changes whenever we hit the 100 follower mark. This'll change a lot of things, mainly banners, logos and the description. For the rest, that'll be all from me today!
