You've read the title, and are probably wondering "so who is this worst character according to you???". Okay, spoilers, stop reading if you don't want to be spoiled as i'm about to say it right now:

Davepetasprite.

Now, you might be thinking: "But OP, Davepeta is awesome! I like them!". Cool, you can like them, i don't have a problem with that.

Okay, so let me tell you my personal problem with them:

Basically, they're a fusion of Davesprite and Nepeta. Sounds weird, as I don't really remember them interacting at all. "Okay, but maybe this could work???" Well, no it doesn't. It completely doesn't.

Davepeta regresses both characters to the point they're unrecognisable, when they also had massive potential.

Let me tell you about Davesprite, one of the most interesting characters in Homestuck - everyone in his timeline was dead, he is known simply as the Other Dave, and had MASSIVE potential for an arc. What do we get instead? Nothing, until Davepeta.

What about Nepeta? She, at first, was treated like a joke character, but also had a lot of depth in her - she represented the more feral parts of the trolls and Alternia, she was the most positive troll and had some fantastic dialogue. She gets killed off early, and brought back in Act 6, when Jasprose (who is also an awful character) prototypes her. Instead of her going to ARquius or trying to work out her feelings for Karkat, she just gets merged with Davesprite.

Then, all of their interesting traits are gone - they're just flanderized completely. There's nothing interesting. This is apparently justified in that apparently some "Ultimate Self" exists, but it wasn't really built up to before this? i'm not buying it. Also, doesn't help that both of these characters were really tragic, and Davepeta is just "haha, funny" joke character.

Their only purpose was to introduce some useless concept and fight LE as a stand-in for Dave, who instead fights Union Jack for some reason. (my thoughts on Collide will be in another post). There was practically no reason for Hussie to introduce Davepeta, on top of it being the end of the comic, andyet he still did it.

And that's about it. Feel free to disagree if you want to. Just please, don't attack me. This is my opinion, and I just wanted to talk about it.
