now what if i told you, song cat is a shape shifter

she may not have known at first, as she probably got into the cat form and never left it, she also sings implying she knows how to speak

so she maybe thought she was a cat that just knew english or something

maybe she accidentally transformed to her old design

and after getting the hang of her shape shifting powers

she transformed into her current design

i just think its a cool concept
