So, you don't really get that much info on Dess; a lot of people think that Dess is a nickname for December, but what if December is actually the month that Dess went missing? I mean, nobody has actually ever stated that Dess is a nickname for December; sure, it could be implied that Dess is short for December; however, wouldn't her father have called her December? Not Dess? And if it is short for December, she still could've gone missing during that month, which would still explain why Noelle froze (it doesn't matter if Dess went missing in December or that her name could be December to make Noelle freeze). Though if December is the time that Dess went missing and that Dess's name is actually December, it would give the Holidays more grief than they already felt. Also, Dess could've been playing the guitar during December for her family, as when you go to https://deltarune.com/dess/, it shows a red guitar, which plays only one song. The song doesn't really matter, but it could be what caused Dess to go missing, like if one string broke and Dess had to go get a new one. Maybe that's why she went missing. Dess could've also died, and that's why Noelle doesn't seem to like talking about Dess, and through what the other charters say about Dess, it seems more likely that Dess is dead, so if Dess died or went missing in December, it would hurt everyone that cares about Dess a lot more than anything. It's the holiday season, and if Dess did die, it would make the Holidays hate their last name or just hate the word 'December' (most likely Noelle's mother who hates that, because Noelle talks about Dess like she's dead or missing, though she doesn't seem to hate anything. And her dad seems happy talking about Dess—sure, a little sad, but overall happy. However, Noelle's mother is never seen in Chapters 1–2. So it's hard to tell. Besides, Noelle and her mother seem to not get along at all, to the point where Noelle seems scared to ask her mom for anything at all, like the gate key so she can get back home.
