so before i show you all the proof you'll need to believe me when i say that paimon is an archon, lets talk about a mini theory known as the chess theory
a theory known as the chess theory has been made after seeing that the anemo gnosis and the geo gnosis both looked very similar to the queen chess piece and the rook chess piece
after putting the order of those chess pieces with the order of the elements based on the loading screen, it's seen that the anemo and geo DO match with the chess pieces they looked like
but if you looked at this picture for more than 2 seconds you'll realize, there's an element missing, right?
so.. there's an archon missing and we'll talk about that archon today!
ARCHON PAIMON
so, lets talk about some of the hints that paimon may be an archon
first there are alot of connections between paimon and celestia, specifically paimon's outfit
ive marked the similarities, there was more but this is what i could get my hands on, i also believe that if you maxed out the statur of the seven it'll have that little hoop thing above paimon's head
paimon also straight up tells us that they're a god
"but the fact that they're a god doesn't mean that they're an archon!!" i hear you say "there was a god of salt but there are no salt powers!!" well first of all the god of salt is dead
second of all.. paimon DID give someone powers
notice how every vision looks different depending on the nation the character is from? or should i say, depending on the archon that gave it to them?
notice how traveller is the only character in the whole game who has this vision shape? (despite not even having a vision) and notice how it's the exact same shape as paimon's hair clip?
if we know anything from the start of the game, it's that traveller must've been awake for a while after the 500 years have passed, probably a few days. but the only time we get our powers is AFTER we meet paimon? besides it wouldn't be the first time we got temporary powers, remember how a few minutes later after that cutscene, came another cutscene where venti gave traveller the "power of a thousand winds" so they can keep flying long enough to fight dvalin,
also notice how offended paimon is when you say that the powers aren't going to be a good thing
paimon doesn't typically get offended for other people, she only gets offended when someone insults her (or the traveller later on when they become closer) and she even has a bit of a rivalry (? is that the word) with venti later on when they meet
perhaps she gave traveller the powers temporarily to make it easier for them to travel with all the monsters roaming around, but she didn't trust them well enough to actually tell them she was the source of the power
"BUT MELLO!" i hear you screaming "how would she give traveller ANEMO powers if VENTI/BARBATOS is the anemo archon??" well, dear friend
let me point you to the fact that archons GIVE the visions, NOT the element
proof?
Klee who has a PYRO vision claims that barbatos gave her the vision, which proves that archons can give elements other than their own
"BUT MELLO??? SHOULDN'T THAT MEAN THAT PAIMON HAS HER OWN ELEMENT?? WHAT IS IT THEN??" im getting to it calm down
there is one element not included in the main 7 elements that we've seen in action
Dain's element
which seems to be this dark blue- almost black galaxy looking element, why am i bringing it up? well
an interesting detail I noticed is that all of the archons' eyes match the element that they control
so with that logic...
it seems like we've got it! paimon control's dain's element!
but an archon needs a nation dont they?
KHAENRI'AH'S ARCHON
so we've already established that Dain, one of Khaenri'ah's three survivors has an element that paimon controls, but that can't be the only thing tying her to Khaenri'ah
and while I don't have enough evidence for this part of the theory, i can show you what I've got so far
every. single. character thats associated with Khaenri'ah has this shape, keaya has multiple hints to his outfit of them but i couldn't fit them all
albedo has it on his neck, because his creator was from Khaenri'ah and this was his sign of imperfection, keaya and dainself the two that are most speculated to have been IN the war that destroyed Khaenri'ah, and it's also a mark that appears when the god that destroyed Khaenri'ah appears
another hint is the fact that despite paimon being our "tour guide" around teyvat her knowledge of the nations seems to be very basic. almost like a tourist level knowledge, and most of the time she's as clueless as we are about the world
but when Dain talked about Khaenri'ah? she was actually about to explain what happened to it, this isn't some tourist level knowledge because most people don't even know Khaenri'ah existed! only the Khaenri'ah survivors and archons know
what if the only reason she knows about is because she ruled it? "But mello!! Dain said it was an archonless nation!!" you know what people also call an archonless nation? mondstadt. because the archon isn't available, well he is but he just lets people do their own thing, what if paimon did the same thing? she IS known to be lazy
maybe that's why all the archons think Venti is a bad archon, because they've seen that neglecting your nation and not properly protecting it can lead to serious concequnces, they've seen how Paimon failed and think that mondstadt's fate will be the same
idk though, this is just a theory
A GAME THEORY
