Didn't like the fact that there's no specific tag for Joltober 2024 like they did with last year, but oh well!

Anyways, this is not the generic ghosts you see in majority of the entries today. These are characters owned by a friend of mine (although I redesigned them in my image), in a story they write alongside myself. They're victims of a group of elitist girls and they died because of them (although in a different way). The girl died from poisoning, the boy is implied to take his own life. And only until all of the elitists that ruined their lives are arrested/redeemed, they will haunt the exact same city they used to live.

This is supposed to be simpler, but I actually like the lineart so I decided to make them into a fully coloured work, although still left simple.

The way I do the effect thing? Put the two into a folder, created layer from it, duplicate the layer, set the top layer blending to "Add", use rotation ruler for the bottom layer and erase some parts of it.
