Things that didn't make the cut

Hi! I’m Grapefruit. I create short experiences that try to provoke thought and touch your heart.

Opposite of what it might seem, Space actually had quite a bit of planning that was done. The idea came to me a few months before I started making it, and the dialogue was refactored many times.

For your curiosity, here are some things that didn’t make it into the game:

This is an alternative tether sprite that got replaced by an entirely white one. The tether took a lot of time to get working with physics and positioning.

The player was supposed to find a spaceship afterwards and guide it towards Earth to come back home. I had a prototype built, however I decided that some things are best left like they are.

This is an alternative version of the astronaut. I found that the sprite was too slender and tall, almost sci-fi, so I decided to go with a different look for the characters.

This was originally the character that the first character was supposed to meet. I didn’t find the harmony between blue and green colors to be nice, so I posted for a female character, with a red color.

That’s it! There were many more ideas that were floating around my head, but I decided to keep the game simple. Hope you enjoyed.

Bye,
Grapefruit.
