Thinking of scrapping some things


Yeah... I'm thinking of scrapping some things from the game.

As much as it pains me to say this (corporate ahh speech), I'm gonna need to scrap some things to get this game out. This article will go over what I will scrap from this fan game.


1# Multiple houses

Originally, I was planning to makes this a full game (like HNAR). Featuring multiple houses. But I scrapped this storyline in favor of a shorter and unique one, and as such, it made the multiple houses useless.

My idea for act 1 was to have the alpha 2 house as a tutorial (Like the devs of the original game said back when alpha 2 was getting released)

Act 2 would've featured the Devgamm house, which I scrapped the model of as it had buggy normals, badly placed textures, and it overall didn't fit with the style I was going for.

Act 3 Would've had the prototype house (I showed videos on how it looked like)

Act 4 Would've been the Alpha 1 house with all of the floors and puzzles from the scrapped floor plans.

Act 5 Would've featured the Pre-Alpha House and would be the final act of the game.


2# Some items will not be as detailed as I expected to make them (Might change in the future).

I was planning to make everything in the game have animations to play when interacted with (like door handles, radio buttons, TV buttons, and keys being used on doors.)

The only animated item in the game is the hammer which I'm not removing, you can still do your hammer chaos, just not with other items.


3# Adding custom items (I might add some still)

I was planning to make custom items for the game, like custom meshes for items that were interacted with, completely custom items for the enviroment, and even custom items the neighbor could've interacted with.

I'm scrapping this idea for now, because once I actually get to finish a build of the game I will want to try and add some custom things

(btw I just worked on the game for 2 hours straight)

Btw i'm thinking of modifying the hn hide and seek neighbor model for the pre alpha man.

Hey guys, sorry. I haven't been working on the game, I started having a burn out from Hello Neighbor.

So with I'll pause the game for a bit until I feel like working on the game again.
