You can get a lot of draw distance on Godot! One corner of the world to the other.
Just some more screenshots. Started doing dungeons. I really like this one, and if it doesn't develop catastrophic FPS problems, I might even finish it.
Came up with a name for the thing: "Island of the Angry Sun." There's the Angry Sun, visible from all parts of the map. It's intimidating and I love it (Yeah, more or less ripping off Majora's Mask. I don't care: I liked that game).
Fun and games with light and shadow. I've done all-dark dungeons before and I kind of love them, so I'm doing one again.
I've been playing around with Godot's toon shader. It's fun as heck. I love this look.
This one is sloooooooow going. I still like it, but I am hitting some major decision fatigue. I've done so many open-world zelda-y things, it's weird that this one is proving to be such a challenge.
Whelp. This one might be dead too. So, if you die, you respawn at the last respawn point. It works fine in the overworld, but in dungeons, this causes the game to freeze. There's no functional difference. There's no code error. There's no reason for it!
New game up: Megaman X Maverick City. Full 3D open world. Plays like a Megaman GTA, with five playable characters, bosses, weapons, upgrades, missions, and an epic story. Enjoy. https://gamejolt.com/games/mmx_mc/904466
Sexy collectible outfits are always something I've wanted to try. Still not sure if this game is going anywhere, but I'm starting to like what I see...
Really liking how this one is looking -- cartoony colours are my jam. I don't have a name or a plot for it yet, nor any ambitions of greatness. Sometimes you just gotta make these things for your own fun, right?
