Hey all! It's been a while since the last update and there has been quite a few developments since. Those of you who saw the last post will know that the new textures have been a drain on time. Thanks to your input it was decided to continue on the textures rather than scrap them. To help with this a new developer has joined the team and will work on the textures hopefully bringing us back on schedule. Anyway, without further ado here are some of the new features.
Firstly, the gravity system has been finalized and, minus fine tuning, should stay mostly the same. Next up was the HUD. after some work, and not a small amount of bug fixing, the new HUD was working; while a little bare-bone, it will be spruced up before 0.3 is released.
After the HUD it was time for the pause menu. It is fairly similar to the old pause menu but will also recive some tweaking. (note red buttons are not implemented)
Next, as you may have noticed, the new skybox was completed. although, it needs some tweaking. Also in this category the old planet texture was brought over while work continues on the new texture. Next on the list is the addition of planet rotation to help make the game feel more alive. and finally, in the realm of visual changes, the lighting system was completed and ready for the main graphical part of this update.
Lastly the main menu was set up and a loading bar was added during game start.
