Something that i do is experiment with new art ideas and see if that kind of thing is something people like or not, as well as different content (except posts where i vent about things that happen or when im spreading the word about something bad)
i always see what would my Target Audience be, so i check, and i see that the Mega Poster update had like 45 (44 without me) likes, which is nice! because i am including OCs from others too! but i check the Matticraft Gamejolt Bg had 1 like (0 without me), which means that if i do things about me only, im basically acting a bit narcissistic, because i don't do things for others either (like the victoree fanart that turned out shit, and i fixed it with one of that OC thing i did), What i suggest for everyone is that always experiment with new content, and find your target audience, All Ages, more Mature people, etc, and if you don't know what to do, use polls, give an idea of what type of content should you do!
