After many succesful attempts at Mechanical Memory, the Sodor Scientists decided to do a little experiment, by trying to create a custom mind and personality not based on any specific person.
To do it they have choosen one of the BR Class 20 Diesel Engines called "Choppers"
At first Choppy was just a nickname, but the experiment sure did live up to it's name, as the engine acted a little unusual and couldn't talk as they couldn't create a custom voice.
Choppy was meant to get scrapped after that, but the workers liked him and found some charm in how the engine acts, so they made Choppy a workshop Shunter.
A few months later however, the Scientists tried making a custom mind again, but using something smaller...
