Sorry for two updates in the same day, Fallers, but thanks to a couple friends-of-a-friend I was finally able to fix an issue I’d been trying to but couldn’t before. The game’s dialogue and UI should now both be the same font, meaning from now on the game will only use one custom font (that you may need to install before playing): Myriad Pro Cond, which was the core font of the original PinesQuest.
Unfortunately we also realized that, due to the use of custom fonts, the game is currently not compatible with Windows 10. We don’t know why, but for whatever reason the game refuses to read the fonts when running on Windows 10, even when the fonts are installed. This makes the in-game text essentially unreadable. At the moment the only way of addressing this seems to be making a second version of the game that uses RPG Maker’s default font, and while this is doable, it will take some time since it’s going to involve reformatting all of the game’s text.
We apologize immensely to Windows 10 users and thank you very much for your patience as we try to work out a compatible version! Thanks and stay weird!
