Hello, fellow fangame creators. If you're not already aware, this project's existence is at risk.

When this was first developed, there were no problems with fangame assembly. It wasn't until December 2025 when we were first notified of one notorious glitch - The Corruption Bug.

The Corruption Bug has been present in many UNDERCREATIONs created by multiple people, and after extensive testing, trial and error, research, along with my blood, sweat and tears trying to patch it, it is concluded that this problem is a base engine problem, meaning it's a Game Maker issue, not anything to do with the code I created. As a result, those UNDERCREATIONs remain in an unplayable state. Not only that, but when going to the PLAY mode, these corrupted UNDERCREATIONs freeze the game completely, making it impossible to play anything without outside intervention.

We have since switched to another, but more archaic method of project compilation which hopefully has no Corruption Bug - 14 creations have been compiled with no problems, including the ones that were previously unplayable. We hope that this issue can be forever solved using this method, but it requires more extensive testing when we release Version 0.1.3, the final hotfix of Version 0.1. 14 successful attempts may sound like all hope is restored, but it's by no means the final answer.

I am sad to say that this is our last resort, and if it fails at any point, we'll have to attempt to move this project to another game engine in the hopes that we avoid The Corruption Bug in the future. But in the worst case scenario that it does happen, this will mean we'd have to rebuild the entire thing all over again from scratch, which could take a painfully long time and perhaps introduce more issues than we previously thought.

We are trying our hardest to get you a bug-free build of UNDERCREATOR. I understand that this has been a very bumpy ride, but hopefully all of the problems will be solved soon. I have had this idea since 2023, and I do not want to cancel it by any means. Even if I'm coding this thing until 2056, I do want to get it finished as it's one of the few things I've made which has far more purpose than "a fun playthrough".

Let's hope for a better future with this project.
