It’s been around 9 months since the last major devlog, and If you haven’t already seen it yet... we were invited to participate in UNDEREVENT!
If you’ve seen us mention that the team’s been too busy to work on the game as much... it wasn’t ENTIRELY a lie, but at the same time it kind of was. We haven’t gotten this much progress on things in forever. Things couldn’t be better, honestly!
For those who aren’t familiar with Underevent...
"UNDEREVENT is a showcase bringing you the coolest fan-made creations from Undertale and Deltarune, all packed into one epic showcase! Think of it as a Nintendo Direct but with a twist, a thrilling story in-between each presentation, making it an adventure of its own. I’m very happy with everything we’ve been doing so far, and I’m glad we can finally give an update on how things have been going. It’s an honor to have our fangame be showcased in Underevent and we’re glad we had the opportunity and time to do this.

With that out of the way, I’ll start talking a bit more about the things shown inside of the trailer, and other things we’ve been doing in general, starting with...
Progress on the Gardens! (And the demo itself!)
All of Floor 1’s rooms have been completed along with not all, but a bunch of their cutscenes / interactions, albeit a few assets missing to be done for some of the unfinished ones, but they’re all planned out and most of them are implemented! This will be done soon.
Mostly the same for Floor 2, but at the time of writing this, there’s quite a bit to be done for this section. There are other NPCs and miscellaneous stuff that are still needed, along with a miniboss that has yet to be worked. The basic plan for how things’ll go is there, but there’s a lot of art, music, and coding to be done.
With a lot of the rooms done, even with missing content and placeholders, we had some of the team members playtest a bunch of the builds from 2024 to make sure everything in the game flowed alright, to look for any bugs / errors, etc. And to make sure content in the game was all good in general. A LOT of significant changes and fixes were made to the game afterwards. ... No, you can’t help playtest.
A lot of random enemy encounter battles have been worked on, with a whole bunch of attack concepts and stuff already been planned out.
In the game, you will have about 3 different save files to make use of during your time playing. This should be pretty helpful if you’re looking for all the game has to offer.
We’ve been working on a lot in some other areas past the first two floors we’ve only ever been talking about for... almost more than a year now, probably. That’s a pretty long time, but that time was well-needed to get what we have now. I’m really glad we’ve been making this much progress on the game, especially with how efficiently things have been going compared to usual.

You wouldn’t believe the insane amount of planning we’ve been doing for a variety of things these past few months. A lot of interesting stuff planned for future areas, characters, and different routes, etc. Figuring out some of what we’re trying to do with this story in general. I’m pretty excited for the time we’ll get to work more on the rest of the game’s post-”demo” content. The Garden’s completion will happen eventually. We just gotta keep going. 👍
There was a specific mechanic we had planned to expand on in this devlog, but it ended up undergoing some changes and complications so we’re holding off on that until another time, sorry!

Art
We had a new logo made by @SnowyBoi64 sometime ago. Only some probably noticed it before now, though. The logo will be used both in-game and for promotional art!
And if you missed it, there was also some art made by @butter-bee for US: Echoed’s UNDEREVENT gateway image!
Aside from that, a LOT of various concepts and sprites for things such as NPCs designs / sprite work, rooms, UI, etc. have been worked on for the past few months.

Quite a few new tracks we have to post! There were a small few more that we planned to include, but due to some recent decisions they’ll have to be updated, and posted sometime later. Have these for now!

Discord Server!?
I haven’t considered doing a discord server for this project for a while, and I figured this would be a good time, especially with how progress has been so far.
If you’re interested in possibly getting more frequent updates, sneak peeks for the game, or just want a place to talk with others following the game, etc. We’ve created a server for it!

Team members needed!
This devlog will be ending pretty shortly now, but before that, I’d like to mention that we’re in need of a few new team members. Our current team... gets the work done, but some of us can only do so much and aren’t always free to work on this project, which inevitably slows things down a bit. It wouldn’t hurt to get a few more people to help speed up progress a little. We’re mainly looking for sprite artists and musicians!
