Hi everyone! JTC here.
Nice to see all of you that decided to show up! (lol)
Welcome to the first official UTNM Devlog!
(Milo welcomes your arrival)
So, what are we gonna talk about today?
Good question.
Let's start with a progress overview:
Progress on the first area of UTNM (that will take place in the demo)
Sprites: ~10%
Story: ~20%
Coding: ~50%
Music: ~70%
Rooms: ~40%
The Specifics
Sprites
Our (currently working) Dev Team, composed of me, darkboilmao, and @Mason_Was_Here , have been cooking up some cool sprites to show you!
And when I mean show you, I mean you get to see a few of them!
So, here's some stuff we've been cooking up for the first area in the game!
We've got custom Flowey sprites,
This tiny little goober,
A stick,
And this rubix cube dude!
(Don't be alarmed, we have plenty of other stuff that we can't share yet :P)
Coding
Thanks to dark's experience with coding on Godot, and his own self-made Undertale engine that he's been working on, the game has been coming together much quicker than anticipated! (provided he doesn't go on break again lol)
Through this, we have been able to start progress on the Combat Demo (no date set in mind for release), which not only will be showcasing the new Flee mechanic, but will also start providing some story for the game.
Due to us being close but not close enough, here's this Youtube thumbnail post of our Combat Demo:
You're welcome :P
Rooms
I didn't know that I could make rooms.
Apparently I can?
For example, here's a tree in the water:
Cool, right? (I hope :3) (Credits to @tetemama_tuti for the tree :3)
Everything else is still up to date: music is still churning, the story is slowly being worked on, etc.
So, on behalf on the UTNM Dev team,
Thank you all for your support of this game so far, and Happy Holidays!
(And make sure you're following us on Youtube, X, or are in our Discord server for more updates!)
JTC and the UTNM Team
(P.S.: If you still want to join the team, be my guest! :P)
