Unfinished Build Release

Hi, everyone.

It's been quite a while since my last update on this site, and I'm sure many of you are surprised to see this devlog.

First off, I'd like to just say right away that this is not an announcement of my return. I do not have plans to come back to game development any time soon, and if it does ever happen, it is most certainly not going to involve the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been feeling quite nostalgic. I've been going through a bunch of my old files and video game projects, some of which date as far back as nearly 10 years ago. I decided to give a couple of these a try for fun, and one of them was FREDBEAR AND FRIENDS 3.0.

Despite being super rough around the edges and VERY far from complete, I was surprised to see how much work on the game was actually done, and that it was in a fairly playable state. While pretty buggy and not quite fleshed out, the main survival section of the game is mostly complete, with nearly all enemy AI being fully coded. There is also a ton of voice acting work from a bunch of different actors that has never even seen the light of day.

After thinking about it for a little while, I decided that instead of leaving months of hard work and what's probably a good hour and a half of content to rot on my dusty external drive, I would upload what little of the game was made for everyone to experience.

The unfinished build of FREDBEAR AND FRIENDS 3.0 can now be downloaded through the game's main page. It also comes with an important Readme.txt file that I would recommend everyone to check out before playing to avoid any confusion and whatnot.

This build dates back to 2019, and while almost completely unchanged, I've done some very minor quality of life additions, like being able to skip the game's intro and the phone call. No further updates to the game will be made.

I'll be active on this site for a couple more days to answer any questions you guys might have about the game.

Let us know what you think about it and have a great weekend!

Runestones: from concept to in-game model🗿

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

"Our work is never over" they said.

What you all think

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

brung back my old oc plus a new one

...they don`t have names yet tho

If you’ve played the Vault demo and enjoyed it, please consider ‘liking’ the game page here on Gamejolt and/or leave a comment!

Also please consider tossing Vault on your Wishlist, I really appreciate your support!

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

Animation test. Not an actaul conclusion to who wins sonic vs Mario. Just a test animation combo.
