Unity Party - Alpha Release Announcement

Greetings, everyone. It is with great excitement that I announce the first public alpha release of Unity Party will be coming on September 6th - 9:30pm EST. This build will be available for Windows only.

What is Unity Party?

For those unaware, Unity Party is somewhat port of FNF made entirely within the Unity game engine. It is able to run on lower-end PCs better than HaxeFlixel could. The engine running within Unity allows for more complex features and better modding capabilities when working with the Unity Engine. It is made by solo developer Rei the Goat and published by Shattered Devs.

Major Features Implemented

These features will be included within the first alpha release of the engine!

Early version of song bundles

Song bundles consists of songs that contains custom information about them such as the artist, charter, and an album cover. You can create custom bundles freely, however there is currently no way make bundles easily but there will be soon in the future.

Custom note coloring

You can customize the colors of the song and static notes in the game options so you can get creative! You can go all black, pattern coloring, or even keep the default color.

Keybind customization

You can change the keybinds for both player one and player two in the game options! No need for autohotkey!

Two Player Mode (local only)

Got a friend and wanna play with them? Now you can natively! You can select "Two Player" when playing a song and you can battle your friend!

Song importing

You should not need bundles to play your favorite songs in the engine, so you can import songs from your favorite mods in-game via the "Import Songs" button! Only supports Kade Engine builds.

Major Planned Features

These features are considered and planned to be implemented into the engine in the future!

Custom scene creation

You will be able to create scenes from images and use them for certain songs or even as a default scene! No need to code any placements, it is all in the UI.

Custom character implementation

There are only built-in characters in the engine, however we know y'all will want your favorite characters to battle against. Soon, you can add them into the engine externally! No need to mod the engine via the source code.

C# mod scripting

C# mod scripting will allow you to have immense power over the engine! You are not limited by set APIs. It will be like you're making a script directly into the Unity Engine!

Online bundle sharing

If your song bundle impresses a developer, you could have it featured online in-game in the "online bundle share". You can also download some bundles to play in-game! Unfortunately, there will be no way to upload a bundle yourself directly to the online share due to safety and security reasons.

Expanded song bundle functionality

Song bundles will be expanded to include more stuff! Song bundles will be able to contain C# mod scripts for special effects, loadable scenes, and dialogs!

Hope y'all are ready!

We're excited to see the feedback y'all will give. We'll be listening closely to what the community wants and what they report. You're encouraged to make feature requests because who knows what'll be implemented next!
