yesterday our friend @LivingCorpse7
uploaded a new video about UM where he models, animates and showcases the menu for 3 more universes for the project, which include fnaf remake, animators hell and blood & gears.
the models look absolutely amazing, he really improved and it shows! some of these are incredibly detailed models, and some of these look straight up organic, which fit for characters like fnaf remake.
what really worries me is my ideas for the characters and their moves. Looking at it objectively, most of these characters will re-use moves from og fnaf world that are basically re-skinned to fit the game's universe...but like- what else could we do? me and @FrozenPidgeon
always find a way to sort of improve the mechanics of og fnaf world and make the gameplay loop more interesting, with moves you gotta press multiple times before using and moves that require certain conditions....but even then our ability to be creative is limited.
with animators hell especially we don't have many ideas for new interesting moves that don't involve the exact same moves as vanilla fnaf world but with perks...so we'll have to figure it out.
I will also announce to both @FrozenPidgeon
and @LivingCorpse7
that I might be unavaliable for the next 2 weeks because of school related work, and may not be able to make further suggestions. I'll see what I can do for animators hell but I doubt I'll be able to finish everything.
what I also felt like discussing is corpse's ability to somehow model a s**t ton of characters every week. Idk how he does it, idk what he drinks or eats to get that fast, but it is REMARKABLE. If I can find some time to 3d model and improve on concept art I definitely will, because getting to his level is like- a life goal XD
now with that being said, I am starting to wonder if Universal Madness might be too big for it's own good. By all means, the more the better, the most fun we do have, but when we look at it objectively, the previously thought of 300 characters are starting to look more like 500, and with the speculation I have that even ALL of corpse's fusions will make an appearance in the game has his OWN universe, what really strikes me as odd is how clickteam will be able to support such a game.
previously I stated that UM was being made in godot now, but in reality it seems like clickteam is still being used, after taking a second look. Clickteam is notorious for being a slow program, by all means. The coding language it uses is visual (so it's easy to code) but it's also based on almost 15 year old coding languages, so it runs poorly. Not to mention the GB limit of size for the games...where after a certain point the clickteam game is just too big to run and you have to compromise by splitting the game into two parters.
With how big UM is becoming, we'd need at least 4 parts HAHA-
which is worrying, however I did hear that the underlying code for the game has been significantly improved in order to accomodate for how big the game is, making it easier to run.
with that being said, I can't wait to see more from Corpse, and I can't wait for y'all to hear my music for the game! Toodles Gremlins!
