Update 1.4 has released, adding NPC dialogue, 19 new planet variations, a new weapon, & more included in the article!


Update 1.4:

NPCs now talk, with messages displaying over them that are unique to their faction and what they’re currently doing, with almost 100 messages total!

Added 19 new planet visual variations.

Added a new weapon, the Tick Launcher. This weapon is like the mine launcher in that it fires stationary projectiles that explode on impact, but compared to the mine launcher it has a much higher fire rate, at the cost of lower damage per tick.

Bug Fixes/Small Changes:

  • Fixed lock UI not hiding when paused.

  • Fixed player cords label not resizing when zooming in/out on the map.

  • Credits alignment shifted from centre to left side of the screen.

  • Added the ability to skip the opening logo by pressing space.

  • Planet defences offset has been adjusted.

  • Added background layer to title notifications, and adjusted animation.

  • Increased number of asteroids required to be mined for the mining contract.

  • Bounty and convoy targets can now spawn further away.

  • Increased maximum planet spawn distance.

  • Increased waypoint marker size.

  • Optimised file size with sprite & sound compression, overall size is now 24% smaller!

Based on feedback received so far the UI has had further tweaks to improve usability. The free android test build has been updated with these changes!

- The user interface has been overhauled, dropping the pixel art style for better scalability.
