Merry Christmas! As what's obvious, this is going to be the last dev log of the year. How wild. With that, I can also say the next time you see that Mario Reimagined logo, it'll have a new fresh look. To be honest I've been wanting to get rid of it for ages lol. From how basic it is to the surprising amount of people that were just flat-out copying it, I think its safe to say a newer and better one could very well be accomplished.
The new logo will be done by our newest member, LuigiGoons..!
If you've seen the Faucet Freaks logo, you'll know how good his work is. Go check that out by the way, It's something I also work on with some very talented people.
Assuming you've seen the ACT 1 gameplay teaser, we've already got plans to polish and update that area as said at the start of that showcase. For the next demo of Mario Reimagined, levels will be done in ACTs. As there's multiple storylines that can happen in a stage, not all of them simply being a simple 'get to the flag' level. We've been kind of working on them in order of complexity, ACT 2 being saved for last as there'll be more dialogue and technical gimmicks there. Below will show how far we are in development coding wise with each ACT. This does not reflect writing, music or art that has been completed and yet to be made functional.
ACT 1 - 70%
ACT 2 - 0%
ACT 3 - 60%
The layout for Demo 2 have been solidified for a while now, but there's always a difference in how things are written out then actually seeing their execution in-game, that being why ACT 1 is getting some touch ups and merging this other aspect of 1-1 into ACT 1 for things to flow a little better.

I know people have wondered what would even be updated in terms of graphics from the recent gameplay teaser, but those visuals weren't final in the first place and admittedly semi-rushed. I have a better vision of how those clouds should look in game.

We've been on a little slow down after the release of the ACT 1 gameplay teaser, but now we're gonna start getting back into action. It was really great to hear all the feedback in the solo release of the gameplay video. I'm always surprised with how supportive my comments are in Mario Reimagined related videos, so I'm super grateful for all the kind words and criticisms it's gotten.

Besides Mario Reimagined, I've been working on another project that's unrelated, but if you're a fan of my work then I think you'll like this as well. I say this also because with it nearing completion and coming out before Reimagined, I'll be getting more time on my hands for it soon enough. Not to say I'm not working on this at all, just figured I'd clarify.
Hasten, won't you?
If you didn't know also, Mario the Immortal has had a little mod for Super Mario Bros. Remastered for a few months. Today, it's gotten a major update! I even made a little video for it. New animations, new enemies and more! Feel free to check it out and download the mod if you can.
To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to 2026. Despite everything that's going on, I want to continue working on Mario Reimagined, feeling more confident in what I and my friends do for this experience. I'm forever grateful that so many people see the potential and effort put into this. I feel like I'm being annoying saying that constantly, but it's true! Working on this have been tons of fun, and grueling. But that's just the process for all art, baby. That'll be it from me. See you next year, folks.
So Long, 2025 ! : 0} )
