Update #3 (repost)

The third Bumlee update brings two pretty exciting features which were promised earlier, as well as some other minor changes.

First of all, start button now leads you to a new screen which allows you to select between gamemodes, which currently features the standard game plus an Easy and a Hard difficulty! Hard mode is currently disabled as it unfortunately breaks upon gameover and doesn’t save highscores, and I haven’t been able to find the issue yet. I’ll be prioritizing this very heavily and hopefully I can get it fixed within a day or two.

The second feature is an addition to the customization screen, which is the player skins! There’s currently 3 new recolors to choose from being red, blue and green, with 5 more currently in the works and many more being planned. Expect more with every new update very soon.

Now of the smaller changes: The Escape key will now take you back to the main menu, meaning you won’t have to rely as much on your mouse anymore if you don’t want to. I’ll be adding similar small quality of life changes once hard mode has been fixed, and leaderboards are added. I’ve also removed some of the default Unity inputs, which were cluttering the controls tab in the launcher. Also, the music credits scene was supposed to play your chosen BGM which I couldn’t get to work previous but have now finished. Much like the game itself it’s due to the way that the customization works, mainly with the music, but I’d like to think it’s worth it. Although it’s obviously something I’d like to rework and optimize at some point in the future once I’ve gotten better.

For now my priority will as previously mentioned be to fix hardmode, and after that I’d like to look into online leaderboards. At that point, the only thing left to finish what you could call the base game are updated graphics for the enemies, and after that I’ll likely slow down updates as I work on bigger features while also possibly starting another project.

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)
