Hello everyone, it's been a while since the last devlog so I've decided to finally come out of my little cave in order to give an update on things.
First of all, the game is NOT canceled. Progress has slowed down a little bit due to life getting in the way of things, but the game is still on my mind all the time and at this point the only reason the game wouldn't come out would be if the world ended.
The last few months have been spent rewriting the code from the ground up. Since this is the first game I've ever worked on, I was basically learning how to code as the game was being developed. This means that things that the further along a mechanic was implemented, the better it's coded. Unfortunately this new code is also referring to a bunch of old code that I don't even know how to properly read anymore, so in order to make things easier for myself (and in order for the game to run better) I have made the decision to rewrite the code of the earlier sections of the game. So far it's been a smooth process, and the game even runs better now as well (the mobile port is also heavily benefitting from this!)
I know I said that the demo would've released way back in November, but after delays I've decided to change the way the game is going to be releasing. Project: Hourglass is going to be an Early-Access game. This means that the first few builds will be extremely early (unfinished/no animations on certain things) and as the game updates, it will not only be adding content such as new nights, but it will also go back and add in some of the unfinished assets. There will still be things that will not be added in until the Final Release, but the basic parts of the game, such as Nights 1-5 and a new Post-Night section, will be expanded and enhanced with updates. The good thing about having an Early-Access type model is that people will be able to give suggestions to balancing that would be able to improve the game faster. Early Access updates will launch on both PC and Android at the same time, so don't worry mobile users.
Every major EA update will also have a devlog to acompany it, in order to list what new content has been added. I know Early Access games are usually paid so it should be clear that Project: Hourglass is a free FNAF fangame.
Have a good day everybody, and we'll be seeing you again soon.
