I usually force goinks to write the important announcements but I wanna say this myself (he still did a part of it though)

This has already been decided for many months now, I just wanted to make it public before it's too late

I've worked on this au for 4 years now, and with the reboot stuff happening, I realized I don't want to spend another 4 years on this game

I can't say I wasted time here, I met so many people thanks to it

But I do want to move on, do other things, try new things

I don't plan on leaving the UTC, not like much would change anyway since I'm already pretty inactive. I just can't handle big projects anymore, dusttrust x and retro edition will continue to be developed though, since they're a million times less ambitious

This however, doesn't mean thanatos is dead, the au will keep going, it is not cancelled. We have a lot of good ideas and we do still intend making them into an actual product, however considering what I just said, a game can't happen. So we have two main changes to go with

1. The name will get changed
I know many people complained about the choice to keep the name, and while the thanatos name DOES work for reasons I can't explain right now, we're better off changing the name and letting undertale thanatos have it to cause less confusion

2. The project will now be in the form of a novel
The biggest thing thanatos has going for it right now is its story so we decided to go all in with it. This way we’re not only able to tell an even better story without having to worry about game development surrounding it but also this way it can actually come out without taking years to do so

We will still make tracks for the au every now and then for fun and post them onto the awesome games youtube channel so there will be other content made than just the novel itself

This gamejolt page will be rebranded to dusttrust x soon, not a big deal since 99% of its followers happened because they want dusttrust

Sorry for the bad news right after official dusttrust's cancellation, it's just a now or never type of case
