Update v1.0.3 - Probably the final update (at least for now...)

Looking at the playthroughs I realized the communication with the players was extremely poor at times. So this patch is all about clarity and additional audio/visual feedback.

There were a lot of people who gave up quite quickly due to the difficulty or the lack of hints (and I don't blame them). I did a bad job at explaining the game especially since it's a tough one. It's probably not for everyone but I hope this update fixes at least some of those issues.

The main point of this update though is a revamped Entity Library. Whether you read it before or not I suggest you should look through it again. It now suits the setting of the game much more than raw SCP Wiki docs and actually describes the mechanics.

It is probably the last patch for a while. There are some things I'm thinking of adding but do not take it as a promise just yet. For now, I am going to take a solid break. It's been an incredible journey and a huge pleasure to see so many of you enjoy the game.

Thank you so much ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year <3

v1.0.3

CHANGES :

- All documents in the Entity Library have been altered to explain the mechanics of each SCP better and for more accurate in-game lore representation

- Added a ton of new hints to death and loading screens (some are specific to the night you are entering)

- AI levels of all SCPs in Nights 2-5 have been reduced (again). Core mechanics did not change so Custom Nights should be intact.

- Both office stages of SCP-173 have now a cap of min 0.25s so it's not possible for 173 to instantly 'skip' to jumpscare anymore

- Power usage during the night has been lowered slightly

- Added audio and visual hints to pickables in [REDACTED]

- Added info on the death screen if something of value was lost

- Chance to get into [REDACTED] has been increased: 50% -> 66,6%

- Added some visual hints to help navigate players toward the final ending

- Certain info text now lasts longer and cannot be skipped

- ESC no longer quits the game in the main menu

- Added pulsating arrows to picture sliders in the โ€œDevelopmentโ€ tab

- Slightly buffed SCP-096 on cameras >:D

- Deleting the save file no longer resets the settings

BUGFIXES:

- Fixed a bug where leaderboards' additional info would send incorrect data about one of SCPs

- Attempt to fix FPS limiting

- Adjusted one of the rocks in [REDACTED] causing soft-locks

- Fixed cursor getting stuck on the wrong sprite in a specific part of the game

- Fixed a bug where Note reset info would appear in the achievements menu

- Fixed a bug where the up arrow could be used outside of the monitor

- Fixed a bug where SCP-049 entering the office could soft-lock the game while the player was in the monitors

- Fixed a bug where SCP-173 could chase you in the main menu

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)
