Hi!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who has written to me so far to let me know of any little bugs they have found, it really helps a solo developer out, as even after test playing 32 times, I was bound to miss some things.
I have just updated the game to change a couple of issues.
Chainsaw
Firstly the Chainsaw mini game was causing people some issues where the last action was not allowing players to carry on through the game. I have now changed the coding during this part of the game which should fix this issue. Initially you had to press all keys at the same time to perform an action, now you just have to push down the keys, one at a time, in any order and it will continue to the next action. I hope this reduces the headache it caused some of you.
Saving
Some players advised me that the game wasn’t saving in places. This has now been fixed.
It was always how I wanted the game to be, where you couldn’t save in every scene of the game, as I didn’t want any of the story to be interrupted (Mainly due to there being a lot to remember at the end of the game that I didn’t want anyone to forget certain key details, and plus I thought it may add a touch of desperation to the play, this game is all about making you feel things - scared, worried, anxious - so it made sense).
Only problem was, I had released a version of the game where the scenes where you weren’t meant to be able to save, still allowed you to save and quit, meaning… no save.
This has now been fixed.
I have also added a convenient logo on the GUI to let you know when you are in an S&Q (Save and Quit) area.
I hope this helps… And don’t worry, there are a lot of areas you CAN save and quits, you won’t feel too panicked, plus all areas you can feel like natural places to pause.
