So, basically, the physics engine and character switcher is almost done. When it is, I’ll upload a pre-alpha version for you guys to try out and debug and stuff.
Also, a fellow dev and I brainstormed for literally one minute about what would happen if say “the currently controlled character falls in lava, or on spikes, or gets blown up, etc”. Well, I’ve decided that the ghost mechanic can work that way. For example, if a character dies, they lose their main abilities, but gain ghostly abilities that can be used instead— abilities such as: flying, possession, and going through walls. However, since a ghost is not coporeal, it can’t pick up things and return with them through a wall, for instance. but, it could be used as say: a light source by making it’s ghastly glow visible in an unlit lantern.
As for how to turn them back into their normal state, I haven’t really figured that out yet.
Just some ideas regarding player death for now.
