V0.5.1 Update


Hello everyone, happy holidays! I have been working on getting this update out before the holidays so that if you wanted you could play this in celebration of the holidays. (idk why you would XD) Ok so here goes.

Change Log

Magic

  • Added attack animation for Enu Knight casting magic.

Movement

  • Made Enemies no longer move into a space that would put them below 0 movement points.

Battle Improvements

  • Redid the inventory menu so that it is now a scroll rect and you can see the stats of the items.

  • When showing the stats of the items the stats turn red or green depending on how good they are compared to the currently equipped weapon.

  • Added death animations for the Goblin and the Brick Man.

  • Added option to close the inventory screen when the equip button is pushed, this is saved to a file.

Interaction Improvements

  • Removed the black outline for the villager eyes and nose.

  • The outline for the villager’s nose is now a darker color of what the skin color is.

  • Villager eyebrows now are skinnier.

  • Re-added the ability for villager’s eyes to be different colors.

  • Made the villager’s pupils be in the center of the eye instead of them being cross-eyed.

  • Added ability for the thing you are talking to having a special sprite.

Village Improvements

  • Added a crap ton of art to villages.

  • Implemented walls, art on the walls, windows on the walls, door, and a countertop.

Technical Things

  • Added foundation for having a dark map where some of the players emit light.

  • When villagers first are enabled they check to see if their version is the same as the version saved in the file, if not or the file doesn’t exist the villager is regenerated, this was implemented to account for all the people who have downloaded the game before so that they can see new updates to the villager look.

  • Unified all of the line endings so that it won’t keep popping up with mismatching line endings.

  • Made the inventory items prefabs so that I can clone them at a moments notice.

  • Made the parent of the attack tile and move tile grid to be a prefab which fixes some bugs with starting the battle.

  • Made it so the attack tile animation can stop at any time and it isn’t playing when the battle cutscene is over.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that made it so when you pushed the enter button after you pushed the attack button it would freeze the game in an infinite loop.

  • Fixed interaction skipping so that it will work every time when you push enter after an interaction is started.

  • Fixed interaction button selection to work every time and now it is no longer possible to select both buttons at the same time.

  • Hopefully finally fixed the stupid MP and HP bars to scale appropriately depending on the amount of health and magic respectively.
