I am very pleased to announce that I believe v1.07 may be the last patch I need to make. I think I found out why all these errors were happening.
So, it’s pretty obvious that for some people there were errors, for others there were not, and I think I know why.
I’m assuming some people played the entire game in one go, and some people played the game by saving, quitting, and coming back to it later.
Now, it turns out that an object called obj_genocide, which is very important, is not created again when the game is loaded, therefore it doesn’t exist, which is why there’s all these errors, because it’s trying to find obj_genocide, which doesn’t exist! But for those who played the game in one continuous run, this was never an issue because they never quit the game and obj_genocide was never deleted.
So now I have fixed this issue, and I have even added extra error handling so that if issues do arise, it’ll let you know without crashing the game.
Here are the patch notes:
The game restarts and deletes all your save data after you get an ending since there was a bug with trying to continue or reset the game, so this bug is no more!
obj_checksave8 has error handling so it checks if obj_genocide exists first before trying to use it, and if obj_genocide doesn’t exist, it gives you an error message so you know!
You can no longer interact with the dummy anymore when it’s gone. This was a bug that when the dummy was defeated, you could still interact with that spot and trigger the battle again. This is fixed.
Every time you start up the game and load your save, obj_genocide is created so that all previous errors referring to it should no longer occur!
Fixed some map issues.
And that’s all! If everything goes well, I might label this release as DON’T FORGET - FINAL RELEASE!
Don’t worry though, I may still update the game with some fun content every now and then, but no promises!
