And when Console said Build completed with a result of ‘Succeded’ the light shined through the window and all the angles came to see… nah, just kidding (-:
Seriously, I’ve finished implementing all those changes I’ve been talking about in previous devlog entries, then I’ve spent some time by testing the game… then some more time by fixing bugs that popped out like they usually do and then came game testing time again and after some more bug fixing that comes after that and some more game testing it’s finally time to release Vanilla Moon 1.1.0.
Aw, and I almost forgot What’s new. These release kinds of devlogs always have What’s new section, right? So…
What’s new
Game Modes
There are four new game modes. Cursed, where you have unlimited fuel but one cone is cursed and SOMETHING happens when you pick it. Then there are Three Minutes, Six Minutes and Twelve Minutes challenges with different fuel consumption. The jam version mode remains and I labeled it as Freestyle, like you’re free to ride in your ice-cream truck on the moon stylishly picking ice cream cones as long as you want. Just don’t forget to pick a fuel tank time to time.In-game Music
There’s another track by an incredibly talented musician Alan Špiljak from Croatia, that he made especially for Vanilla Moon. Thank you Alan, once again, for such a beautiful music.New Items
There are two new items - Additives and Speed Booster. Additives slows your fuel consumption to 1/2 of the original value for 30 seconds. Speed Booster… boosts your speed (-: for 10 seconds to 24 from the original value of 16.High Score Keepers
Each game mode has it’s own high score keeper where i refer to points as ICC. That stands for Ice Cream Cones (isn’t that silly? well, too late, it’s there).In-game Options
If you click on that gears icon on the top right corner you’ll access those two sliders that allows you to change SFX volume and Music volume independently.
And that’s it. That’s the new version of Vanilla Moon. Builds are of course available for Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit, Linux 64-bit, Linux 32-bit and Mac OSX 64-bit as well.
So I hope you will enjoy Vanilla Moon 1.1.0 and I always welcome any feedback or criticism that helps me become a better game developer.
Have fun!
And here’s a photo of my cat friend pointing at some code. This code is not from Vanilla Moon, it’s completely irrelevant. My cat friend’s name is Max.
