Changelog:

General Changes:

  • This update addresses the drastic memory use issue thanks to the re-introduction of cel shaders. The game now on average uses around 1GB of RAM total (can go to ~2GB at Ultra settings). If you still cannot load the initial graphics setup benchmark, try reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work, bypass the benchmark. If that doesn't work, then your device does not have enough RAM.

  • You can now export and modify save files. This allows you to mod the save file to unlock characters you cannot currently unlock via normal gameplay. Simply export your save and edit the .txt file in a text editor. The game automatically converts the file format when importing.

    • These are the keys for the missing characters. They must be written this way, followed by a comma (except for the last one) for the game to unlock them.

      • "Blaze"

      • "Mania"

      • "Mighty"

      • "Sally"

  • Boost drain has been reworked to work more like Frontier's boost.

  • Post Processing Settings added to the Settings menu.

  • Silver can now fly. You can relive spamming his flying to complete gaps like in '06.

  • Silver and Metal Sonic no longer share a character animator (I honestly had no clue that was how it was set up until I went to add Silver's flying animation).

  • All characters now have character select statues.

  • Sally's eye normals have been fixed.

  • Enemy collision has been tweaked. Spamming homing attacks should less often result in you getting stuck on the enemy.

Known Issues

  • On Android, the game still uses the native render resolution. You can switch to the Custom graphics setting and adjust the render resolution from there if needed. I am unlikely to change this as performance isn't hindered that much and instead eventually change the actual game assets to be more mobile friendly.

  • On Android, some users on lower end devices can still experience high RAM usage that may close background applications. This will be optimized further through the swapping in of mobile friendly assets later on.

  • On Android, Stage Complete text may fail to load. This whole scene will eventually be replaced with a traditional stage complete screen in the actual level itself.

    • One potential fix is to set your settings to performance, complete a level to get the text to load, and then it should always be visible. No idea why this works.

  • Metal Sonic's black shield cannot be used by the player yet.

  • Silver can't pick up and throw boxes/projectiles yet.

  • Silver's flying animation sometimes drifts to the side.

  • Silver lacks a sound when flying

  • No custom arena model for the Metal Sonic Boss Battle yet.

  • Camera does not zoom in/out when you reach the ground/height limits.
