Version 1.0 uploaded

We have uploaded version 1.0 of the game. We have taken feedback and completely redesigned the UI to improve user experience. We also reworked the intro and help messages (complete list of changes at the bottom of this post.)

We’ve also completely removed audio for the moment - the OpenAL requirement has caused some issues and we don’t have any audio in the game beyond a button click so we thought it best to remove it for the time being. Once we have some more sound effects and some music to play, we’ll release an update with audio support reimplemented.

The new leaderboard system is in place, so once you’ve finished you can submit your score to the online leaderboard. If you weren’t logged in when the game finished, you should be prompted to log in before submitting.

We have left the old version (0.6.3) up in case there are issues with the current version. Once we’ve determined that the current version is working properly, we will remove the old version.

Finally, we’ve updated the read-me that is included. It now has proper information matching the version as well as all of the available override codes for the Override Panel.

As always, any and all input is welcome.

Change Log

Version 1.0

  • Complete in-game UI redesign

  • Reduced title-safe area from 0.1 to 0.025

  • Updated text-input screen to resemble a keyboard layout rather than a idiotic layout.

  • Changed passenger score values - survivors are 300 (up from 100) and the dead are 450 (up from 100.)

  • Added ability to upload scores to online high score board.

  • Fixed score calculating (sleep aids did not boost score and negative response to sleep aids did not lower score.)

  • Increased starting booster shots to 12 (up from 10.)

  • Rewrote the intro sequence to provide more information.

  • Immune System Stabilizer and Sleep System Stabilizer cannot be restored until you have at least 1 processors restored.

  • Removed alternate layout

  • Removed layout setting

  • You can no longer be diseased and infected at the same time.

  • Buttons change color to indicate needed action in easy difficulty (i.e. Inject Booster Shot will be green when a patient’s immune system level drops to 25.)

  • Asteroids can now damage pods with dead patients again (was removed in 0.6.2 for some reason that I can’t remember.)

  • Updated read-me

  • Removed sound effect and OpenAL requirement

Version 0.6.5

  • Adjusted infection/disease chances - it is now easier to become diseased if you’re already infected.

  • You can now get infected at lower immune levels (previously you could not get infected if your immune level dropped below 45.)

  • The game no longer crashes if you don’t have an active internet connection.

Version 0.6.4

  • Added new layout

  • Update original layout to improve functionality (bigger, more descriptive action buttons.)
