Version 2.0 released with brand revamped multiplayer

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Santa is back with his trusty shotgun and ready to blast snowmen! And now his friends can come along for the ride!

In this brand new update, I've ripped out the old networking system from 7 years ago and replaced it with a much more modern and easier-to-use system!

Now you can easily host a game, tell your friends the room code, and they can join! No more of that nerdy port-forwarding needed!

While I was digging around in my old (and bad) network code, I also fixed a bunch of stuff! Like, I just accidentally made host migration work! Crazy, right? If the host leaves in the middle of the game for any reason, someone else will just take their place, and the game resumes as normal!

After all those multiplayer changes, I also decided to do some quality-of-life things. Like full controller support and controls rebinding! If this game were released on Steam, I'm pretty sure it would be Steam Deck verified!

If you're an avid GameJolt user, why don't you get your name on that new leaderboard and show everyone who's the boss? There are now two leaderboards for you to rule over: normal mode and carnage mode!

I really hope you enjoy this update and all the changes! This update took 5x as long to make as it actually took to make the original game! But now the game should be way more stable and work a lot better for more people, no matter where or how you play!

Changelog:

  • Way better multiplayer system with invite codes instead of classic port-forwarding multiplayer

  • UI overhaul with a much easier text to read and better text scaling

  • Input prompt icons for important actions

  • Full controller support

  • Input actions rebinding

  • More settings to tune your experience

  • Leaderboards!

  • Actually keeping track of your high scores and kills

  • Lots of rebalancing related to points and scores

  • Performance improvements to make the experience smoother!

  • Dropped support for Windows 32-bit
