Version 5.2.3 "Easter" Update Released

NSaF: Rebooted v5.2.3 (nicknamed the Easter Update) is a massive content-adding overhaul to the original game.

While the response the to previous versions have been lukewarm-positive, I got several similar complaints regarding the game feeling “empty” and slow. The Easter update is my attempt to fix some of those problems. v5.2.3 is much livelier than previous versions.

Update Log:

General

  • Shortened nights by two minutes

  • Replaced certain character renders

  • Decreased the opacity of the scan lines and static (cameras are much clearer and easier to see)

  • Completely re-animated all character jumpscares

  • Power is now independent for each door

  • Added a new frame

AI

  • Sped up AI

  • Balanced how long characters stay at the doors to appropriate times for each night

  • Certain characters activate sooner

  • Certain characters stay at the doors longer

Sound

  • Added several new sound effects for Toy Freddy

  • Nose “honk” added

  • Slightly changed volume of some sounds

Was wondering how the hell Mary's Arcade ended up the way it did and then realized the latter half of development was spent listening to this stuff. Makes a lot more sense now.

The duality of Mary art.

Maya really makes things feel "behind the scenes" in a way that Blender just doesn't. (to me)

All motion is fully IKFK rigged and keyable, now just to finish the meshwork and texture it.

I swear once this skeleton is finally done and textured the rest of the game will come a lot faster. This thing has been a huge bottleneck to the point where I'm not sure the MA2 characters will even have internal mechs.

Rascal is SO PHOTOREALISTIC in the new Mary's Arcade that he POPPED OUT of my screen and is now RAIDING MY BIRD FEEDER every night between 1am and 3am.

If I have to give SP an "adult - tobacco use" rating because of this pipe I will be mad but it will be worth it.

Might actually reach out to Game Jolt to see if this warrants a rating.

Mary's Arcade is officially the most "cinematic" fnaf fangame specifically because it looks like a crappy DVD extra where they show the unfinished animations and they're so bare bones you wonder how a finished movie came out of that.
