Hey everyone!
While you'll be reading this dev-log you'll notice that there will be a huge amount of the "!" symbol 'cause I've gotten a lot to tell! You know; how progress looks, my thoughts about the game, and maybe telling you that the release of the game could be cut shorter than you think! And that's what I'll be talking about plus a few extra details...
Yep, the progress of the game extended X100 due to one concept being scrapped. A very-and I mean a very small portion of you people may remember the year when this game first came out, it was around the time when the very first Sister Location teaser came out. There were a very few animatronic models made with the face-plate feature and my model happen to be one of the few! But I had one big problem when with the game, one being gameplay, and the other being the theme. Back than change became a huge part of the game development time! I had to go with a red theme or a blue, in order for the theme to work it would affect gameplay. Even though at this point, a theme has been selected and gameplay has been thought out. This is an example of change, I wanted this to be my last game my past series and I wanted it to be good. But later in 2016 (before the release of SL), I've neglected this game I've left it to rot and be forgotten, I've spent that whole time improving my art skills. I've basically become a decent artist, I can see what I do and what I don't like and publish it without any worries.
And about that one scrapped content I mentioned, I won't what it is but I will say why with reason! With all these changes coming in and out, changing my style depending on my mood, I didn't think once about gameplay! There was this, "Alternet," level in the game, and it was scary (nothing compared to Shadows at Freddy's that's for sure). It had tasks, difficult AI, and cheap jumpscares, but it didn't have interesting gameplay. I believe that having a very difficult game isn't fun, I had very little motivation to even play again, I had to scrap it soon as possible. I had to completely redesign everything, gameplay, characters, but not the story. Many fan-games suffer from not having either an interesting story or a story that's too cryptic. This leads me to make the game not have any relation to the original fnaf gang and will not continue with a sequel, but even if there were to be another game there would be new characters, new building, new everything and it won't continue from any story from the last game(s). There's no point in coming up with a complex story if no-one is going to attempt solving it one game at a time. And many fan-games suffer from poor gameplay. An example is a game called, "Mac Tonight and the Forgotten Ones," GameSalmon prooved that you can never die in the game and even called the game boring and lacks interest in the viewer's point of view. But games like, "Mac Tonight Remastered," is an example of difficult gameplay. Though it suffers from lack of interest from the start It later builds up to a hard game. Jolly 3's gameplay is both hard, fun, and fair. The games show you that YOU made an error and YOU lead yourself into a game over, that's "fair." I want Original Location to be fair and interesting. I'm making the game interesting by giving it special graphics and fair gameplay. I don't each night in the game to take more than five turns to complete but I also don't want the player to think this game is too easy.
I also want to talk about videos, not just my animated videos but YouTuber videos. I've noticed that a few YouTube users followed my game, not saying there won't be people won't make YouTube videos of the game I'm not saying that. These users (won't say who), have a pretty large audience, and so I think it would be necessary to attempt to contact those guys and send them the playable build I've been promising to upload. I'll most likely not upload the build publicly, I'll give those users permission to upload official gameplay and I'll upload the video here on gamejolt for you all to watch. I also want to stop with the game progress. I'm basically remodeling everything from scratch and I have very little to show/tease. And it gives a lot away before the game is even released, I've given away too much away.
Tell me what you think of the updates! I always love reading your comments and your support. Are you excited about the huge time cut! Do you agree with not releasing the playable build publicly? Tell me, This can help the quality of the game a lot! Hope you agree with these changes and thoughts and I thank you for reading!
