Views on Difficulty

The new version saw a fairly sharp rise in the game’s difficulty, due to the relative ease with which the player can now die.

What are your views on this difficulty? Is it too hard, or does it compell you as a player to keep trying against difficult enemies until you learn to defeat them?

Are the penalties for dying too great? Currently, the player loses their entire inventory and has no way of retrieving it. This probably is too harsh, so I will change it to one of the following (please let me know which you prefer):

  • The player retains only their equipped item (ie: a sword or axe) and loses the rest of their items.

  • The player drops all their items where they died, and can travel back to their death location to retrieve them.

Thanks for your interest - be sure to check out the new trailer if you haven’t done yet!
