Hey there! Where do I even start with one of these?
Well for starters impostor DX is officially 2 years old (3 if you count development before release), I remember working on the first version all the way back in my freshman year of highschool, now I'm a senior and by time this update is out I'll be close to graduating. This mod has come such a long way and for months I've had to force myself to stay quiet about it's development until now, let's just jump straight into this shall we?

For progress I'd say we are just about over halfway with finishing the soundtrack, currently we only have one song finished, 3 currently being worked on, leaving 3 that need to be finished afterwards. You can thank our amazing composers desherr, noichi, & EddOrSomething for making the soundtrack for this update, I can't wait to show all of you what else we have in store music wise! Keep a lookout for teasers on socials or in the discord server!

Art is a completely different story compared to the music progress, we've decided to put our full attention on finishing the soundtrack before focusing on the art/assets for the mod, that being said that doesn't mean we don't have anything to show off! As you can see above we are making even more playable characters for everyone to mess around with, this is one of many characters coming to the shop and Freeplay in the near future. Besides characters we still need to work on backgrounds, menu assets, cutscenes, & icons, but we'll get there when we get there ❤️🩹

As of right now we have no code done for the mod, meaning none of the mod is playable whatsoever at the time of writing this, we want to get all of our art & music done before beginning the coding process so our coders have everything to work with all at once. Speaking of code nows a good time to announce that the entire mod is being remade on psych engine 1.0.4 meaning not only will the game be up to date but you will also get all the current engines features! We aim to make it easier to work with for our coders & any of you who plan on downloading the source code when we release it for your own impostor mods!

Here's my vision of how development will go and when certain things should be finished!
Finish soundtrack -november 2025
Finish all assets -march 2026
Finish coding -june 2026
Playtesting -july 2026
Release -july 2026
Now yes I know that's a long time from now but we want this mod to be the best it can be, not to mention this is just an estimate and could possibly come out even sooner than that! Even if it doesn't that would mean it should be ready around the 3 year anniversary of the mod, perfect for a V3 release.
FUTURE OF THE MOD

As of right now I can not say for certain how things will go after release, I may work on a smaller mod, maybe even take a break from fnf for a while. But I do know one thing and that's the fact that this mod will get more updates overtime! We will release pitstop updates adding more Freeplay songs, erect remixes, character mixes...? And more!!!
Welp, after months of silence that was a boatload of things to get off my chest, I hope I didn't disappoint anyone too much with that roadmap but I promise now that this is Public I'll be talking about it a ton more here and on the discord (link can be found at the end of the dev log), on top of that I plan to make monthly dev logs or at least seasonal dev logs for more teasers & what not, have a good day everyone!!!
