YES! It's as it says in the title! It's been in complete silence since this game was released in 2023, but now we have some updates to share.

- Release date? Release news?? Anything Release related???

The first thing you care about, for a good reason!
But no, we don't have a concrete release date yet.
However.
We have the new teaser you can see above!
We also posted it on Youtube in case you missed it!
And...
We have a release plan of the game + if everything goes well, you can outright expect a release date this year!

- Release plan?

The idea from the start was to always release the game in one big unified chunk that contains all the levels for the game along with the ending, but as the game grew in scale and ideas developed, that plan changed.
The game now consists of 8 levels instead of the originally planned 3, but with how long making the game has taken and with how quiet we've been, we decided that we will release the game early as 2 parts to break that silence and receive some feedback!

- 2 parts? How will that work?
Part 1 of the game will contain in it the first 5 levels.
Part 2 of the game will contain in it all 8 levels, along with the ending of the game, additional bonus content like extra modes, secrets, and more.
Simple as that.

- Why not release it all at once?

1. Finishing the remaining levels is gonna take quite some time as well, and I don't think it'd be a good move to keep quiet all this time and then suddenly release the whole game out of nowhere, only for nobody to notice and care because we didn't update all of you about the game properly.

2. Two years is a long ass time without any updates.
Hence, the split! A good middle-ground of being able to release the game in some form and show what we've been working on all this time, while also giving us room to finally receive some proper feedback without needing the game to be completely finished.

- Why have you been silent for so long?
I (Jackiee, the lead developer of the game) didn't want to fall into the trap of empty promises. I didn't want to update and talk about the game without having something with some level of quality to back it up.
If there was nothing noteworthy to update about the game, then why should I act otherwise and tell all of you empty promises?

Unfortunately, that meant complete silence when we didn't have anything to show off here.
So that silence continued, and continued, and the game grew in scale, and development had some troubles that slowed down our pace considerably, and sometimes our real lives had to take more priority then the game for extended periods of time, and more...

But today that changes, and the silence now comes to an end! expect more consistent updates from here on.

- You mentioned a release date later this year. What do you mean by that?

Currently we have no release date for the game, but we do have something solid that's completely playable from level 1 to level 5 and even beyond that, but unfortunately, the game still has a lot of areas that need a lot of work, like visuals and polish.

However, this whole post and updates exists because we are very close to releasing the first part of this game soon.

We don't want to put a concrete date in case anything unexpected happens that can set us back substantially, but once we are around 95% finished on all areas when it comes to the first 5 levels that make up Part 1 of this game, then you'll know that with a release date for the first half. This is a promise, and a matter of when. Not if.

- Is there anywhere else I can hear news and updates about the game?

Yes! We now have a Twitter (or X I guess) account and an updates only Discord Server for the game!
We'll also still keep on posting updates for the game here and in itch.io like usual.

- What if I wanna help out with development or support you in some way?

When it comes to directly working on the game, currently we're looking for Experienced digital spriters who can match the level of quality seen in the first published level and C# Unity coders.
If you don't specialize in either categories, that's also okay! As long as you can contribute to the game in a worthwhile way, we'd be up for you joining.
