It has been a long time since I posted on this page; many months have passed since I last mentioned the game's progress. Unfortunately, there are reasons for this, and as things stand, we clearly won't be returning to the project for a while. My team and I reached Night 3 and thought we could finish it in time for the testers, but we kept running into issues with the game itself or with corrupted save files. Sometimes, images and graphics would simply break for no apparent reason. This eventually dampened my motivation to keep working on the game. I knew people wouldn't like that outcome, so I busied myself with version 2.0 just to give everyone something in case I lost. Believe me, Dev Nights - is a straight path to hell for us one we have to walk over and over again, hoping the game doesn't crash because of yet another shitty error or bugs. On top of that, two or three months ago, I had disagreements with members of my team who weren't providing the necessary assistance with the project specifically regarding testing. As a result, I had to let go of some testers, which significantly damaged both my team's reputation and the ongoing development of the game as a whole. I couldn't handle the stress especially given that I was paranoid about every little sound at the time, so my team and I officially announced that we were recoding the game and redrawing a lot of the artwork to give people something fresh. No, this doesn't mean the entire game will undergo major changes; rather, the gameplay will simply become smoother and more user-friendly, taking into account the mistakes we made in previous demos. Of course, I can't promise anything to anyone right now; the process has only just begun, and a lot of things are still being thought through. I can't ask the team to help me every day, so for the moment, I’m focusing on planning, writing, and creating new art for the game. To mark the occasion, I’d like to release the full version of the game later on, without a demo. I’ll definitely trim the game down so the file size doesn't get too huge, though I’m not sure if there’s any other way to handle it.
Please continue to provide us with specific assistance and support; you are the reason we are working on this, and we want the project to succeed. I genuinely have something to show—in many ways, this is a massive project for us, and one that is larger in scale than 2.0
That all, see you later maybe.
