Hey everyone,

I want to start by saying how much each and every one of you mean to our whole team—your creativity, your passion, and your dedication are the heartbeat of Game Jolt.

Over the weekend, we noticed some troubling messages and misinformation circulating from some creators and community leaders about how our platform is handling boosts and visibility, and it's been painful to see misunderstandings take root.

Last Thursday, we rolled out an update so that nearly anyone could use Joltbux to boost their posts, profiles, or games for extra visibility. Before this change, we had an automatic boost in place for all posts, profiles and games of our Game Jolt Creators. In creating the new boost feature, however, we humbly admit that we accidentally removed the automatic boost Creators receive. It was a simple mistake—one that, honestly, could have been fixed even quicker if users had emailed to notify us of what they were noticing or experiencing.

Instead of reaching out to us, some creators took to social media, making up stories of shadow banning and silencing FNaF creator groups. The moderators of our biggest communities also shared this misinformation without first checking with us to see if the accusations were based on facts. We understand how upsetting technical glitches can feel, especially when trust is at stake, but this wasn't an intentional change or a hidden agenda—it was a genuine error.

We launched the Creator Program to build a bridge between you and our team, to ensure you always have a direct line for questions, feedback, and concerns. Our team is made up of people who care deeply about your work and our community. And while we're proud of the overall welcoming, uplifting space we've built, please know that assumptions and miscommunication can cause real hurt.

Here's what we're doing to rectify the situation. (Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments):

We'll fix the automatic boosts for Game Jolt Creators this week.

We value respect and honesty above all. In harmony with the spirit of our platform’s guidelines, anyone who has participated in the spreading of harmful rumors about our team or our platform will be removed from creator roles and/or community leadership positions. (Some creators have already requested their Creator badges be removed and we've processed their requests)

This is not the first time we've had issues with creators on our platform spreading misinformation. We want our Creator Program to be a source of mutual support and positivity. More importantly, we want our creators to help us make Game Jolt better. We can't give a platform to those who are quick to spread misinformation or make us the villain for their own personal gain.
