You can check your vessel at any time for a basic rundown on his stats -
(HP and GOLD mechanics not yet implemented.)
UDF has a unique take on the name at the top. In canon it's "Chara", as I'm sure you all know. Still, generally, it's depicted as either being whoever is in the Fallen Human's role (looks at Underswap) or being the player character's name (like UTY's Clover). Here we've done neither of those and instead opted for a new addition of lore.
The name at the top of your check screen and elsewhere in the game is the name of someone deeply important to you. Someone who affects your life in every way. The name can change over time, of course, changing to be whoever it is that touches your life the most. More on that lore in the final game ]:)
And, my personal favorite part:
The call option!
You can call Dr. Gaster anytime, anywhere, he'll always pick up. He's reliable that way. After all, he probably wants to know where his kids are and what they're doing, so Sans calling to check in is a welcome break from stressing about whether or not they're knocking bookshelves over onto themselves.
