Weekly Update 10: Doors and Hazards


Hey guys, I’ve got a few things to show off today! They’re both pretty self explanatory, so I’ll just let the gifs do the talking.

I’m probably going to put the weekly updates on [temporary] hiatus because I don’t want to reveal to much of the game and I want to put as much of my time as possible into preparing a public demo for the game, which I’d like to have posted here around the start of October. I’ll still post media here like I have previously, but it won’t be following any sort of schedule.

In conjunction with the release of a demo, I’d also like to launch Super Skelemania’s Steam Greenlight campaign, so that you can play the demo and vote for the game at the same time. I haven’t talked at all about Greenlight, but yes it is something that will be happening and I’ll need all of your support in order to make the process as easy and clean as possible.

I’ll be posting a devlog update about a week before we launch the demo and the Greenlight campaign, so be on the lookout for both!

EDIT I also FINALLY gave Super Skelemania a header and updated the thumbnail. Everything’s lookin real nice!

For some reason, it's really hard to change the alpha value of a tile layer in GameMaker. You can do this easily for sprite or instance layers, but not tile layers. So here's a video on how to easily update the alpha value of tile layers in real time.
