Hello everyone and welcome to the first devlog of our game Project Shore here on Gamejolt!
We’re a small team of (currently) 3 people - a game designer/programmer (and yours truly, @vallynne ), a 2D artist/UI designer and a level designer. We have been developing this game since March 2017, and a couple of weeks ago, we released the first public alpha build.
To start with, I’d like to say thanks on behalf of the team to everyone who has given Project Shore a try. It makes us very happy and proud seeing other people playing our game and saying things about it, even if it’s someone being angry about how brutal the difficulty of some battles is (and okay, it does get quite brutal sometimes). Though actually, the players’ feedback has been very positive so far!
Anyway, we know this is just the beginning. We want to make this devlog a weekly thing, so expect some fun updates as we continue polishing the mechanics of the game and adding new content! For now, here’s a little sneak peek of a feature I spent some time fiddling with today: a modular mesh system for our characters.

This means that you’ll be able to customize the looks of your two starting characters (along with their names) when you start a new game in the next update.
It’s not high on our priority list, but time allowing, I also really want to implement detachable limbs (laughs maniacally). Because this is somehow not enough cartoon violence:

By the way, for everyone who played the game, we prepared a questionnaire, so please share your impressions! Every bit of feedback counts for us.
And if you have any questions about the game, don’t hesitate to ask!
