Right now, my main focus is CRUSH.TV.
Which you’ll find here: http://gamejolt.com/games/crush-tv/198187
But that doesn’t mean I can’t show some love to this game from time to time. Let me give you some history on this game.
After a long, stressful week of work (I’m an art director during the day). My boss decided that because I kick ass, I should take a week off. So, to calm down I created Into The Dust. I found some graphics off opengameart.org (cc), retouched and animated them, created original artwork and assets, worked on some platforming mechanics, put together a vague story, and composed some original music (yes, in game music is all mine). Not bad for a week of development. I always wanted to tackle a metroidvania.
I’m actually really proud of the work, and I can’t wait to dig into it a little more. I’ve learned that each game needs a different approach. I believe, this one needs a story first.
As far as story, this is what I’m thinking.
Way in the future, some (group of people) have dug the deepest hole into earth. Toward the bottom of the pit is a research town, because it take so long to go back up, it’s easier just to live there.
After returning from a routine supply run (which takes a month). 4 soldiers return to (said hole) only to discover the power out and something terribly wrong. (The elevator is powered by a top side solar generator). The commander sends you to investigate why.
That’s what I got, and as always let me know what you think,
