I guess it's time to share my opinion on the Scott cancellation issue.
I'm going to be honest, this came completely out of the blue for me. And since it's happened, I really haven't done much reasearch into it. All I know is that Scott turned out to be a Republican, and a bunch of people are freaking the hell out, and also an even bigger bunch of people are freaking the hell out about that freak out. And I'm honestly really conflicted.
On one hand... I'm not a republican. In fact, I have pretty much the opposite views of the republican party. Which makes things kind of awkward. But on the other hand, the way Scott refuses to politicize his work or his choices involving his work makes that fact pretty much irrelevant. And, to be honest, I respect him a lot for that.
I don't think political or religious views should change the way people look at someone's projects. I may not agree with Scott on certain topics, but those topics have nothing to do with the incredible work he's done. And, although I don't want to make a strong opinion just yet, I do think the hate he's given is pretty undeserved. I hope this whole thing clears up soon, because I am never prepared for drama like this.
Sincerely, your very confused game dev,
-DKrazy
